Q1:What if my car needs to be towed after an accident and it is the middle of the night?

Your safety is our top priority. If you are not in a safe location, or there are injuries, call 911 immediately.

If your car is immobile, you can contact a tow truck company yourself, or the police will arrange to have it towed. Make sure to secure the information as to where your vehicle is being towed.

If your event is eligible, your towing costs can be reimbursed.

Q2:What if I'm hit by someone, it's their fault, and they don't have liability insurance, and I don't have uninsured/underinsured motorist insurance through my traditional insurance company. Can GDM help with my repairs?
  1. In states where at-fault insurance exists:

    If the other party is at fault, you must file through them. If the at-fault party is uninsured, you must provide some form of official documentation, such as a police report, which verifies that the at-fault party does not have insurance. If this is the case, GDM will review for eligibility.

    If the other carrier denies, or does not make you whole, you will send the denial letter to GDM. We will review for eligibility.

  2. In states where no-fault insurance exists, GDM will be primary even if the other party is at fault.

Please Note: Since GDM is not insurance, it does not offer subrogation (recovery from the at-fault insurance carrier) services.

Q3:Is having the repair done through GDM’s network of repair shops the same quality as if I had the repair done through my traditional insurance company?

Absolutely! Repairs through GDM meet or exceed traditional industry standards.

All shops in our network are also approved by major insurance carriers. Our repair partners provide national lifetime guarantees on repairs. GDM uses alternative parts providers that supply parts that meet or exceed OEM quality and warranty, with after-market parts having lifetime warranties.

Q4:How does GDM handle cracked windshield repairs?

There are two scenarios:

  1. For rock chip repairs where the entire damaged area is less than a quarter and is not within the driver's line of vision, the Out-of-Pocket (OOP) cost is waived regardless of whether the service is elected. Repair costs will be deducted from members’ RPB (Remaining Pledge Balance), and any amount exceeding the RPB will be shared by the community.

  2. For glass replacement, there is now an option for a newly enrolling GDM Member to select a Zero Dollar OOP (Out-of-Pocket) option for glass-only damage. This means that if glass damage is determined to be an eligible event, it would be replaced with the members only paying their RPB (Remaining Pledge Balance), and their OOP would be waived. Any amount over the RPB would be paid through weekly sharing.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The ZERO DOLLAR OOP option is available for incidents involving glass-only damage.

Q5:Does GDM report my accident to my liability carrier?

We respect your privacy. Since GDM is not an insurance company, we are not required to report to any agencies or your liability carrier.

However, keep in mind that organizations like CARFAX will pay entities such as police departments, repair facilities, and other organizations to capture accident information.
