A Turning Point
Three years ago, my life came to a sudden halt. I woke up one morning unable to move or speak, with my mind so clouded that I didn't even recognize my wife. Just a week earlier, I had been leading a sales meeting of more than 150 people; now, I felt like a stranger in my own home.
Doctors couldn't give me an answer. I spent months in a haze, sleeping nearly 20 hours a day, overwhelmed by pain and despair. At my lowest point, I reached for a bottle of painkillers, ready to give up. Then I heard my wife's voice: "Twenty years ago, you promised me we'd grow old together." That reminder pulled me back from the edge.
My recovery was long and uncertain, but it gave me time to reflect. Over the next three years, I interviewed more than 1,000 people, asking how they found happiness. The answers were all unique, but they shared one truth: none of them felt alone.
That's why I launched Do Your Happiness, a program offering free counseling and community events. I wanted to remind people that no matter how hard life gets, someone will walk alongside you. I came to believe that loneliness is a chasm — and mutuality is the light that can guide you out.

Discovering GDM
Six weeks ago, my friend Tito called. "Jaime, there's something called GDM you need to see." At first, I wasn't interested. After decades in medical and biotech, I had seen enough sales pitches focused only on money. But then Tito said: "Their mission to save lives and help others is exactly like your Do Your Happiness philosophy." That made me pause.
As a lifelong entrepreneur, my work in life sciences was always about helping people. My Do Your Happiness program was about bringing people together to build a strong community. GDM's philosophy was a perfect match. GDM believes most of drivers are good drivers — and that we shouldn't be left to shoulder all the risk alone.
As someone who had driven 20 years without an accident, yet watched my insurance costs climb, that message resonated deeply. GDM's message was simple: "Good drivers should pay less. It's not a discount; it's about fairness." This was precisely the kind of fresh thinking I was looking for.
The brilliance of GDM is that it isn't an insurance company at all. It is an innovative alternative to collision and comprehensive, fostering a strong network of responsible drivers who share automotive repair costs. By leveraging AI-powered technology and rewarding safe driving habits, GDM helps promote safe driving and lower costs for its members, ultimately enhancing road safety. This logic just felt right — it was a place where my good driving would finally be acknowledged and rewarded.
What sealed the deal was the opportunity to build a business from the ground up. I knew this was the right thing to do. It was a chance to extend my passion for community and shared responsibility from health and wellness to something as fundamental as safe driving.

From Old Habits to a New Promise
Before GDM, I had the overconfidence of a longtime driver. I'd take calls on the road or adjust my GPS mid-drive, thinking nothing would happen.
But GDM reframed it for me. Driving safely isn't just for me — it's a promise to the entire community of good drivers. Now, my phone goes straight into a $14 mount. Do Not Disturb is on before I even shift gears. Every second of focused driving is a way of honoring the trust of others.
Friends sometimes tease me about my careful habits. I just show them the GDM App and its weekly reports: "This isn't only about saving money. It's about being accountable to each other."
Fast Track to L3: When Beliefs and Actions Align
My belief in GDM quickly turned into action. Sharing it with friends, neighbors, and colleagues — it felt like extending the same values I'd been living. That passion helped me advance to L3 quickly.
When your personal beliefs align with a platform's mission, every step forward is fueled by purpose.
A Word for Good Drivers
If you're like me:
A longtime driver tired of overpaying for others' mistakes,
Or someone who believes that people who live responsibly deserve to be treated fairly,
…then GDM is worth a look. It's more than a way to potentially save money. It's a platform that makes you value every safe turn and every thoughtful choice on the road.
What I learned in my health crisis still holds true: happiness isn't found in one big moment. It's built through small acts of living responsibly and helping others.
And that's what GDM offers — a place where good drivers belong, a community built on fairness, transparency, and mutuality.
