11. What happens if you cancel your Mutuality Plan?
When you join GDM, you only pay 20% of the quoted amount as a service fee on the day you join. You can select the effective date of your plan and delay it for up to three months.
Before the effective date, you have the option to cancel and receive a full refund of this 20% service fee.
Once the plan becomes active, if a member chooses to withdraw, the 20% service fee will not be refunded. This is because the member has already started benefiting from the various services provided by the platform.
Additionally, the weekly sharing contributions made to help other members cannot be refunded. During the plan’s validity period, if a member’s vehicle experiences a qualifying accident, the member is entitled to receive mutuality services. At the same time, the member is also obligated to contribute to other members’ costs in accordance with the community rules. These contributions have already been used to help other members with vehicle repairs and have been paid to the repair shops.
As for your remaining pledge balance, since you have not actually paid this amount upfront, there is no refund needed, as it has never been collected from your payment method.
Important Notice
For members with both Collision and Comprehensive Insurance: If you are an active member with both Collision and Comprehensive Insurance, you must first file a claim with your insurance provider in the event of an accident. GDM can only be applied for damages that are not covered by your insurance but fall within the scope of the mutuality service. To avoid resource duplication, please choose either your Collision and Comprehensive Insurance or the Mutuality Plan before it takes effect.
In cases of hit-and-run accidents: If you have Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Property Damage (UMPD/UIMPD) coverage, you must first file a claim with your insurance provider. Additionally, damages from hit-and-run incidents are eligible for mutuality plan. To prevent resource overlap, please select either your UMPD/UIMPD coverage or the Mutuality Plan before it becomes active.
