12. What should a member do if they have an accident?

The GDM App is the official and only channel for reporting accident. Please follow these steps:

  1. Report an Incident

    Prioritize Safety first:

    1. Click [Incident & Roadside] via the GDM App.

    2. Select the corresponding GDM plan.

    3. Upload incident details (Time, location, type, photos of the damage, etc.)

    4. Provide your contact phone number and email address.

    5. Provide detailed information regarding any other parties involved.

    6. Submit the details. A GDM Mutuality Advisor will then reach out to you.

  2. Service Process
    1. Report an Incident: Members report the incident following the above steps.

    2. Eligibility Review: A GDM Mutuality Advisor will contact the member by phone within a business day to assess whether the incident meets eligible criteria.

    3. Loss Assessment: GDM will review photos to determine the extent of damage.

    4. Handling After Loss Determination:

    If the Planned vehicle is Repairable:

    • Choose a partner repair body shop.

    • Schedule the repair.

    • Public announcements and sharing will occur, with payment going directly to the partner repair body shop.

    • Vehicle pickup and member payment to the repair body shop (The member pays the out-of-pocket amount and their remaining pledge balance directly to the repair shop).

    If the Planned vehicle is a Total Loss:

    • GDM will determine the loss amount based on the vehicle's actual cash value prior to the accident. If a member chooses to have GDM dispose of their totaled vehicle, they must provide GDM with the original seller-signed vehicle title and other state-specific required documents.

    • If a member chooses to keep the planned vehicle, GDM will deduct the salvage value from the total loss settlement. The member must provide a copy of the title to verify ownership. When completing the weekly announcement and sharing, the sharing contribution amount of the total loss event will be disbursed to the member who suffered from a total loss.
